This was the first bungalow to be built on Volmoed.
Work started in 1991 and finished in 1992. John Cupido joined the community in 1990 and he was the Master builder who helped get the building project off the ground and taught many people in the Valley and Deon, in particular, building skills. His brother-in-law Henry came and did the tiling and Bernhard tried his hand at plumbing.

As you will notice it is the one bungalow that does not have a downstairs section – after building Keurboom it was decided to build the other bungalows double storey and not have wasted space!

St. Peter’ Ladies Guild in Hermanus helped with a donation of linen and a friend in Caledon bought the material and made the original curtains. The kitchen cupboards were secondhand and over the years we have upgraded with carpets and new curtains.
